Digital
cameras and video servers have been around for some time but can be
limiting in what can be done with them. They also lack the key
Graphical User Interface to make them easy to use by non-technical
people.
Advantage.IP provides state of the
art functionality to view, monitor and record live video from a
combination of up to 14 cameras or 14 analogue cameras using IP
Video Servers.
Advantage.IP provides the ability to
control traditional Pan Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) functions whilst also
having the ability to simulate PTZ functionality on fixed camera
images.
In
addition to the monitoring and recording functionality, advanced
video processing technology is included (usually found in only the
most expensive DVR systems) to automatically detect events. For
example, the system can be set up to detect motion, identify the
occurrence of particular colours or even check video images for
specific changes in brightness – as may be caused by an intruder
using a torch.
Advantage.IP is also able to
automatically record one or more cameras either continuously, or
when an event occurs. The system can analyse the video in real-time
and detect motion events. The event can be used to start recording
or to tag the video with information that can subsequently be used
to retrieve specific recordings.
Unique
to Advantage.IP, the system can incorporate full colour maps of the
area under surveillance, providing a more intuitive operator
interface.
The map facility enables easy access
to an unlimited number of cameras without having to know their
location. The facility can represent geographic locations, floors
within a building, individual retail units etc. Just clicking on a
camera icon takes you straight to the live video image.
To aid the operator the system also
includes comprehensive scheduling features which enable the various
video processing tools to be activated or deactivated, the camera
frame rates to be changed etc., all at various times and dates.
Image Retrieval
Advantage.IP
provides comprehensive tools for retrieving and playing back video
images. Easy to use controls permit rapid location of recorded
events; a click on the colour-coded event allows the recorded video
images to be directly viewed.
Advantage.IP further assists
diagnosis with its powerful digital zoom function, which can be used
to pinpoint image details. Real time/date and frame sequence numbers
are added by Advantage.IP, together with camera identifiers, to
allow precise verification of actual events. When the desired events
have been isolated, images can be exported as static or moving video
images.
In an attempt to simplify and speed
up the review process, the pre-storage video processing filters such
as movement and colour identification, can be applied to the
recorded material as part of the reviewing process.
