Unlike the majority of security systems, PenControl is intended to be used proactively as well as reactively which makes for a far more effective security weapon. It has the ability to integrate CCTV, Alarms, Access Control, Audio and Telephony.
PenControl is a fully automated and truly open system using Windows NT and 2000. We already have the drivers and protocols for most widely used security equipment and new ones are regularly being added to the list.
PenControl can be shipped as a pre-configured package or its highly sophisticated suite of tested and proven ‘building blocks’ can be tailored to match the customer’s requirements. This ensures fast implementation of an affordable stable system. What's new ? Virtual Matrix Functionality : PenControl can now control the Comvision Matrix software. This gives users the ability to implement a virtual matrix through PenControl's "Graphical User Interface". What's a virtual matrix? The Comvision Matrix software is used to network any number of distributed DVR's on a LAN or WAN. Cameras can then be displayed on a video wall (of VGA monitors) by selecting them off on the PenControl maps. It is therefore possible to view and control cameras from DVR's located anywhere in the world. Integrated keyboard :

PenControl’s
ability to integrate dissimilar security systems and equipment
is proven at the highest level. Data is brought from these disparate
systems to one control centre and is processed in one management
system. PenControl has achieved this level of integration for
Town Centres, Prisons, Utilities, Retailers and Telecommunications
Companies. British Telecom’s installation is believed to be the
biggest and most advanced security monitoring centre in Europe.
PenControl
has the ability to automatically act on triggers
and events and start the required security processes. For example
when an alarm is triggered, CCTV and video equipment are
automatically alerted and concentrate on the area of the alarm.
‘Decision support’ assists the operator in taking the right
actions when responding to the situation. Just a single touch or
click on an icon accepts an alarm and the information is logged and
acted upon. With the advanced Graphical User
Interface (GUI) and optional Touch Screen technology, this
simplicity of operation greatly reduces training time.
Several password protected security levels
can be employed ensuring, for example, that general operators cannot
alter procedures set by supervisors. PenControl produces a full
audit trail and has a powerful reporting facility for all alarm
events providing the user with detailed statistical analysis.
PenControl
now has an integrated keyboard that allows users to select and
control PTZ cameras from one keyboard. I.e. A user may wish to
control local cameras through a matrix switch, control remote
cameras through FastVu transmittion hardware on a PSTN dial up
network and control cameras on a virtual matrix via a wide area
network (WAN). Traditionally these three types of control would
require the manufacturers respective keyboards (three keyboards).
PenControl will seamlessly integrate these three technologies into
its mapping system and allow the operators to control any camera on
the PenControl network from the KBD-3 keyboard.
